Zero Day in Lincoln, NH
We stayed last night at Mt. Liberty Motel. Pretty nice, but not close to town. We could have used a bike to go but ha! we wanted to rest so the owner, Mike, shuttled us to town to eat for a small fee. Last night we went to The Common Man - very nice restaurant with good food but a bit pricey. Wait-up had pot roast, mashed potatoes, green beans, bread and butter while I had steak kabobs. There was a complimentary cheese and cracker bar and white chocolate to top off the meal.
We stopped at Price Chopper to pick up something for breakfast so we could stay at the hotel in the morning.
Susan, the owner, did our laundry for $5. No shampoo in the room, luckily I had put some in our drop box that me mailed here ahead of time. The queen size bed was kindof hard, but at least we had a bed.
I noticed I have bad bruises on my arms from black fly bites and my backpack scraping my arms.
We wound up staying with Mike and Susan for Saturday night, Sunday night and Monday night so we could slackpack Mt. Moosilauke on Monday.
At our age, we identified with their campaign.
