We met Mark at Snickers Gap to leave the car there. He took us to Ashby Gap to hike north to the car.  We started hiking at 8:45. 

The roller coaster is a 13.5 mile section with 10 ascents and descents.  We accomplished 8 of the 10 today.   It was not as bad as we thought it would be until the end when we got tired. 

We exited at Snickers Gap at 4:30 and then drove to Harpers Ferry to the Econolodge to spend the night.

 

 

 

Manasses Gap to Ashby Gap

Manasses Gap to Ashby Gap

We drove our car to Ashby Gap and left it there.  Sharon picked us up and took us to Manasses Gap to hike north to the car.  I like that these gaps are a good distance apart to walk in one day.  At the end of a long section hike, slackpacking is very nice. 

 We drove to Comfort Inn in Manchester to spend the night.
