Monson to Stealth Camp
12.4 miles

Another wonderful breakfast with all new people around us.  After breakfast it was our turn to wait around for the shuttle to leave.  After everyone settled up their bill, we left around 8:45 heading for the trailhead.  Poet was very entertaining with his stories on the short ride.  We piled out and posed for a picture before venturing into the “wilderness” where the sign warned us not to go there unless we had a minimum of 10 days food to get us through.  Well, we had 5 days supply of food and our pack was already heavy enough, I can’t imagine carrying 10 days worth.

Woohoo—here we go into the 100 Mile Wilderness!  The folks we leave here with may or may not be our summitting companions.

Jurrassic and Poncho leapfrogged with us today but we lost them by the end of the day.  It was pretty easy terrain, small ups and downs, some rock scrambles.  We did have to ford two streams right off the bat – Little Wilson Stream and Big Wilson Stream, but they were shallow.

We hiked until 5:30 and stopped to stealth camp near a stream around mile 2089.9.  It rained at night but stopped by morning.
